Ricki Ford Photographers. That name means a lot to me…. and my family. I met with Ricki in a Starbucks in South Carolina almost 5 years ago. And I am CONTINUING to book him (he is covering my daughter’s first birthday party in June)! Let that be the ultimate testament to his work, style, character, and passion. My first session was my Bridal. Ricki and I met on location and instantly clicked! I felt completely comfortable and confident. He gave me direction that did not belittle or confuse me. I “worked it!” The images were stunning. I knew I was the subject, but people would look at the prints and gasp and say “Who is that? It looks like it should be in a magazine.” Trust me, it was the talent of the photographer, not me. The next session was the Engagement shoot in Wilmington, NC. My fiancé and I arrived over an hour late and were really upset about it. Ricki and his assistant had spent the extra time scoping out areas downtown. When we arrived we jumped right into shooting. We all had lunch together and then ran into a vintage shop and played around for a while. I was delighted to be able “goof off” with my photographer. And again, the images were phenomenal! The third session was the Big Day…. the bridal party met and began the preparation- the men set up tables and chairs and the women had a make-over. Ricki Ford Photographers came prepared. Ricki, his wife Sommer (assistant #1), and another photographer team (DC Photographers, looking to beef up their profile), began working immediately. I had total coverage from the make-overs to getting ready (both men and women) to pre-wedding shots to ceremony to Bridal Party to reception to Cake! I told Ricki at our first meeting that I wanted to be able to look back and know which earrings each of my guests were wearing. And I can! I wanted to be able to describe some of my favorite shots but there are so many…. even thinking of them now brings a tear to my eye. I am so blessed to have found a photographer that was/is able to capture the most intimate moments in the most important events of my life. God made it happen. I was at a Bridal Fair and was bombarded with TONS of business cards. I went home and looked at the websites to narrow down my options. I made one phone call- to Ricki Ford Photographers. I met with one photographer. And I planned my wedding around his openings. I called him six months in advance to make sure I had the perfect photographer for my daughter’s birthday and I’m sure I’ll call a year in advance to book for her graduation. Little did I know way back in the beginning, Ricki Ford Photographers had made a lasting impression on me.

Where do I even start?  I can not give enough praise to Ricki Ford and his talent and love for photography. As a model, I’ve worked with a lot of photographers over the years and have never received photos back from photographers that I love as much as my photos from Ricki.  When I got engaged earlier last year, there was no doubt in my mind, who I would ask to shoot my wedding.  Ricki and Sommer came early and did not miss a beat.  As a bride, you miss so much of what’s going on outside of your “room” and Ricki and Sommer captured everything that I wondered about.  When I received the photos, I felt like I was a part of everything that went on on the other side of the door!  Every detail and moment will now be with us forever thanks to Ricki Ford Photographers.  

Shot with fuji 400 pro h on contax 645 and fuji 400 pro h with nikon f100…nikon usa. fujiflim is one of the best films out there but thats just me when you love something you love it with all your heart. Every since i made the switch back to film for 85% of my work it has only improved my work in the way it looks and feels.
